In Wonder, you can have team members with admin rights and team members without admin rights.

What are admin rights?

Having admin rights allows you to change the following:

  • Space name

  • Space description

  • Areas (adding/deleting areas, changing area positioning, modifying area names)

  • Background image

  • Agenda

  • Circle limit (how many people can be in a circle at max)

  • Ice-Breaker Question

You can still add collaboration content, comments, stickies, etc. as all team members are encouraged to work with them.

Who should I give admin rights?

This is obviously up to you. At Wonder, we all have admin rights. The advantage is that team members feel more encouraged to explore the platform and make the most out of it.

We just make sure not to give admin rights to external parties.

How to share admin rights

You give someone admin rights by sharing the admin link with them. The admin URL looks similar to the non-admin space URL (which you see in the URL bar in your browser) but has an attached string of letters and numbers.

When someone enters a Wonder space via the admin link, they have admin rights. This is saved in the browser. So if they come back to the Space in that browser, they still have admin rights.

Where to find the admin link:

Option 1:

  1. In your space, click on the "Menu" button (icon with 3 lines in the bottom left corner)

  2. Click on "Security"

  3. Click "Admin Access"

  4. Copy the admin link and share it

Option 2:

  1. Go to the first email you got from Wonder with the subject line "Verify your email and enter your space"

  2. You'll find the admin and non-admin link

  3. Copy the admin link and share it

How to revoke admin rights

Once shared, there is currently no way to revoke admin rights, they are eternal.

We are working on a way to address this in Q3 or Q4 2022.
